Japanese Firms Acquire 17-Acre Site in Torrance

Epson Corp., in partnership with Shimizu America and other Japanese investors, has purchased 17 acres in Torrance for $18.2 million.
Grubb & Ellis Commercial Brokerage Services represented Epson in the transaction with seller Zelman Development Co., Los Angeles. The site at the northeast corner of Civic Center Drive and Madrona Avenue is two blocks north of Del Amo Fashion Square and a block east of Hawthorne Boulevard.
Epson, a Japanese-based computer products concern, will consolidate its headquarters in one of several buildings to be constructed on the site. The firm is now based at 23530 Hawthorne Blvd., Torrance.
