Los Angeles police Saturday arrested a 28-year-old North Hollywood man on suspicion of committing at least eight burglaries early Saturday morning at an apartment complex near California State University, Northridge.
The man, Wayne Cole, was arrested about 2 p.m. at his home, Officer Craig Ledsworth said. In all the burglaries, residents of the apartments were home at the time, Ledsworth said.
The burglaries occurred between 5 and 6 a.m. at an apartment complex in the 18500 block of Plummer Street, Ledsworth said. He said the burglar, after entering the apartments through open windows, stole only cash.
Cole had a large amount of cash in his pockets when he was arrested, Ledsworth said. He was being held at the Police Department’s Devonshire Division.
Police identified Cole after at least two residents provided physical descriptions of the man who broke into their homes. Cole’s fingerprints were also lifted from several apartments, police said.
