Dunn to Pitch for Valley Dodgers in Wichita
In search of their first win in the state of Kansas, the San Fernando Valley Dodgers play the New Orleans Athletics today in the consolation bracket of the National Baseball Congress World Series in Wichita, Kan.
Steve Dunn (22-9) will pitch for the Dodgers against the Athletics, who lost in the first round of the double-elimination tournament, 10-1, to Madison, Wis. The Dodgers also lost, 8-0, in the first round Saturday to the Wichita Broncos, the tournament’s fourth-seeded team.
In a non-tournament game Monday, the Dodgers traveled to Liberal, Kan., to play the Liberal BeeJays, the NBC defending champions. Liberal won, 7-2.
