Rookie quarterback Sean Salisbury from USC passed for the Seattle Seahawks’ only two touchdowns against the Houston Oilers in a scrimmage before 8,428 fans at the Kingdome.
Salisbury, a free agent, completed 4 of 5 passes for 145 passes, including a 65-yard scoring play to Earl Winfield and a 27-yard touchdown play to Byron Franklin.
“That was real fun out there,” Salisbury said. “It was something I’ve always dreamed about.”
Seahawk Coach Chuck Knox said: “He threw the ball well.”
The Seahawks used four other quarterbacks--regular Dave Krieg, who completed 4 of 8 passes for 52 yards; Gale Gilbert (3 of 5 for 50 yards); Paul McDonald (2 of 4 for 17 yards), and David Norrie, a rookie free agent from UCLA (2 of 5 for 12 yards).
