Pellet Rifle Shot Kills Boy

A 7-year-old boy was fatally wounded Monday when a high-velocity pellet rifle accidentally discharged while he and a neighbor boy were playing with it in the yard of their Willowbrook apartment house.
Pedro Ramirez died a few hours after emergency surgery to remove the pellet from his chest. Sheriff’s deputies questioned the boy’s friend in an effort to establish ownership of the rifle and who was holding it at the time the child was injured.
