A Beale Air Force Base military judge was asked by the attorney for Airman 1st Class Bruce D. Ott, 26, to dismiss espionage charges because the defense was not given crucial, classified material. Ott, of Erie, Pa., is accused of plotting to pass a copy of his unit’s roster and a copy of a classified Strategic Air Command regulation to a Soviet agent. Military judge Lt. Col. Howard P. Sweeney recessed the court-martial until Friday.
