Four more nations have pulled out of this week’s Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh, Scotland, bringing to 30 the number of countries who are boycotting the event in protest of Britain’s refusal to impose tough economic sanctions on South Africa.
Pulling out Tuesday were Grenada, Mauritius, Brunei and the British Virgin Islands, who jointly would have sent 28 athletes. Lesotho, which originally agreed to boycott the competition, now says that it will compete.
