Fire on Cannery Row

MONTEREY, Calif. — Firefighters battled a blaze in two warehouses along Monterey’s famed Cannery Row for about 1 1/2 hours early today before bringing it under control. No injuries were reported, but the blaze destroyed three businesses: California Seasons, a mail-order company; M & K Carpets, and a firm called Sewers of Paris.
