Three long-distance carriers plan to merge.

The new company will include the national satellite network operated by Argo Communications, New Rochelle, N.Y.; the Florida fiber-optic network of Microtel, Boca Raton, Fla., and a Midwestern fiber network owned by Litel Telecommunications, Worthington, Ohio. The result, if the deal is completed this fall, will be the creation of a carrier with $150 million in annual revenue offering an all-digital national network.
