Funeral services will be held today for James L. (Skeeter) Webb, a former major league shortstop who was on the Detroit Tigers team that won the 1945 World Series. Webb, who spent 14 years in the major leagues, died at his home in Meridian, Miss., Tuesday following a lengthy illness. He was 78.
