MOUNDS VIEW, Minn. — A woman and her 6-year-old daughter were killed and another woman was seriously injured Tuesday when gasoline leaking from an underground pipeline caught fire and exploded, officials said.
Flames escaping from manholes reportedly leaped 50 feet high, and 200 residents were evacuated from the area. The explosion damaged several homes, and officials were checking the storm drains and sewer system to guard against further explosions from the leak.
