Former Rep. Flood, 82, Is Stable After Surgery

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — Former U.S. Rep. Daniel Flood, 82, who served in Congress for 30 years before his resignation amid a 1980 bribery scandal, was in serious but stable condition Saturday after emergency chest and abdominal surgery, Mercy Hospital spokesman Mark Stephens said.
