DIAPER RASH

If you were surprised to hear a version of David Bowie’s “Changes” on a Diaperine Diaper Wipes commercial, you aren’t alone. Bowie’s people told Outtakes that they were unaware of the song’s use until we called them--and now have insisted the ad be dropped.
Mike D’Souza of Lowe Marschalk, the ad firm that shot the spot, contends the firm paid $10,000 for a year’s reproduction rights. But a Bowie business rep said, “We didn’t know about it and we never gave permission to use the song. We’re irritated.”
The beef’s still in the “talking” stage. Sterling Drug, which owns Diaperine, said it’s received no formal complaint.
