THREE U.S. CELLISTS IN TCHAIKOVSKY FINALS

MOSCOW — Three Americans were among the 12 cellists chosen for the final round of the Tchaikovsky competition in Moscow.
Sara Sant’Ambrogio, 24, of New York, John Sharp, 26, of Cincinnati, and Bion Yuting Tsang, 19, of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., will compete in finals on Wednesday. Also reaching the final round is Austrian cellist Johanna Picker, a longtime student of Eleonore Schoenfeld at USC.
The finals in violin and piano will be completed later this week.
