A dozen Terminal Annex Post Office employees were arrested as suspected cocaine pushers after what postal authorities said was a five-month investigation at the big mail-handling facility near downtown Los Angeles. Forty postal inspectors and postal police officers took part in the arrests of garage men, mechanics, mail handlers, tool-and-parts clerks and a parking lot attendant. Postal inspector Robert L. Chavez said there was no indication of any major drug operation. Postmaster Charles W. King and chief Los Angeles area postal inspector Wilhelm J. Maisch noted that the number of suspects was less than .003% of the approximately 4,000 who work at the facility.
