Eagle Beats McDowell for Seattle PBA Title

SEATTLE — Dale Eagle averaged 239 and defeated four opponents, including top-seeded Marc McDowell, 228-215, in the title game, to win the $120,000 Ebonite-Firebolt Open bowling tournament Wednesday night.
Eagle, 40, who won his third Professional Bowlers Assn. title, opened the finals with a 258-235 decision over Gary Dickinson of Burleson, Tex.
Eagle then beat Bob Learn, Jr., of Erie, Pa., 224-193, and No. 2-seeded Bill Knight, of Gallup, N.M., 224-193, to advance to the title game.
