SEOUL, South Korea — An estimated 800,000 South Koreans staged anti-North Korean rallies Wednesday to mark the anniversary of the 1950 North Korean invasion of South Korea.
In the rallies, held in 181 cities and towns across South Korea, the participants accused the north of preparing another war on the Korean Peninsula. The rallies, organized by the Korea Anti-Communist League and the Veterans Assn., came as the nation was under an alert against spies and saboteurs from the north.
