Santa Fe Springs : City to Buy $2-Million Estate
The City Council, acting as the Redevelopment Agency, approved the purchase Monday of an estate south of the Civic Center for $2 million.
The city will make a down payment of $800,000 for the historic property, which has a main house, guest house and is surrounded by trees and plants. The remaining $1.2 million will be paid over 10 years.
The council also directed the city manager to begin a study of possible public uses for the site, which is next to the library, Town Center Hall, and community garden.
