Redondo Beach : Warhead Testing Opposed
The City Council voted 4 to 1 Tuesday to support a ban on nuclear warhead testing in the United States. Copies of the resolution will be sent to Sens. Alan Cranston (D-Calif.) and Pete Wilson (R-Calif.) and Rep. Mel Levine (D-Los Angeles).
Councilwoman Kay Horrell objected t that city officials do not have the “full picture” necessary to advise action on national defense. “I believe we elect our national leaders to vote on national and international issues,” Horrell said.
