23-Year-Old Motorist Killed in La Jolla Traffic Accident
LA JOLLA — A 23-year-old San Diego man was killed late Saturday when he lost control of his car, authorities reported.
The victim, Alfred Jansen, was declared dead at Scripps Memorial Hospital at 12:05 a.m. Sunday, said the San Diego County coroner’s office.
Police said the accident occurred at 11:15 p.m. Saturday as the car was traveling at a high rate of speed southbound on La Jolla Mesa Drive. Jansen apparently lost control of the vehicle, which then ran off the road, struck an embankment and overturned.
San Diego police are investigating the accident.
