Sonora’s Stuart Signs With Braves
Robert Stuart, Sonora High School shortstop, has signed a contract with the Atlanta Braves, the team announced Thursday.
Stuart will report to the Braves’ Gulf Coast Rookie League team in Bradenton, Fla. on June 22. Stuart, a 6-foot 1-inch, 170-pounder, hit .430 with six home runs, 27 RBIs and 36 runs scored to help lead the Raiders to a 25-2 record this year.
Stuart was a first-team selection on The Times’ All-County baseball team announced last week.
