28 Hurt in RTD Bus Collision

Twenty-eight people suffered minor injuries today when a Southern California Rapid Transit District bus rear-ended another RTD bus at a bus stop in Studio City, officials said.
The collision occurred near the intersection of Ventura Boulevard and Carpenter Avenue about 9:20 a.m. The back window of one bus was crushed and the windshield of the other was shattered in the collision of the two westbound vehicles, Los Angeles Fire Capt. John Brodie said. Three people were taken to nearby hospitals and the rest, complaining of back and neck pains, were treated at the scene by paramedics. The cause of the accident was not immediately known.
