MCI announced a 9.3% rate cut effective July 1.

The reduction comes on the heels of AT&T;’s recently requested rate reductions. Some MCI rates will be reduced as much as 17%. AT&T;’s rate reduction--averaging 11.8%--is set to go into effect Sunday if the Federal Communications Commission approves it. MCI’s rates are not regulated by the FCC.
