Ex-Florida State Quarterback Promoted

ORLANDO, Fla. — Former Florida State quarterback Rick Stockstill has been promoted from receivers’ coach at Central Florida to assistant head coach for the Knights.
Stockstill’s appointment was announced by head UCF football coach and athletic director Gene McDowell.
Stockstill, 26, of Fernandina Beach, came to UCF last season after spending two seasons as offensive coordinator and quarterback coach at Bethune-Cookman.
A 1982 graduate of Florida State, Stockstill was a three-year letterman and captained the team as a senior. He played in two Orange Bowls and a Tangerine Bowl, as well as two all-star games.
