SON OF ‘PRIZZI’

“Prizzi’s Family,” a “prequel” to “Prizzi’s Honor,” will hit the bookstores this fall, but author Richard Condon is keeping the screenplay all to himself--for now. Condon’s at home in Dallas, according to his agency, penning a script that he’ll “offer” to Hollywood only when the novel’s publication is imminent (from Putnam and Berkley).

“Family” recounts hitman Charley Partana’s (the Jack Nicholson character) involvement with Maerose Prizzi, the don’s granddaughter (Anjelica Huston’s Oscar role), and the “mysterious” Mardell La Tour. Other details are hush-hush.
