Seahawks Give Top Marks to Ex-Florida Fullback
Associated Press
SEATTLE — Fullback John L. Williams of the University of Florida, the Seattle Seahawks’ first-round draft choice last month, got top marks Thursday on the opening day of the National Football League club’s minicamp.
“He showed good quickness, not average or above quickness, but good quickness,” said Chick Harris, the Seahawks’ offensive backfield coach. “I thought he looked pretty good for the first day.”
Williams, a 5-11 and 219, was the 15th selection in the April 29 draft. Coach Chuck Knox hopes to use him in basically a two-back offense with veteran Curt Warner.
