Baldwin Park : Housing Contract Awarded
A 12-unit senior citizen housing complex will be built on Morgan Avenue near Morgan Park by Nottingham Ltd., a Baldwin Park developer. The project will be financed by the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Baldwin Park Community Redevelopment Agency and will be operated by the city’s Housing Authority.
Construction is scheduled to begin in late June and be completed by early 1987. The City Council awarded the contract to Nottingham Ltd. this week after the lowest bidder, Ralph Contreras Inc. of Los Angeles, withdrew from the project. Nottingham’s bid was the second-lowest, at $449,746, about $11,000 above the Contreras bid.
