A software firm will appeal a patent suit verdict.
A federal court jury ruled in favor of Candle Corp., a Los Angeles company that sued in 1982 challenging a patent on software that measures computers’ systems performance held by Boole & Babbage, a Sunnyvale-based maker of software for IBM computers. An attorney said Boole & Babbage intends to pursue the case.
