Naming Angeles National Forest
Naming a place or an institution after a famous person not only honors that person, but lends to the place an aura, a spirit of what that person stood for. On my regular morning walk in the Angeles National Forest I thought of several social institutions that might benefit similarly from association with noted personalities.
The Benedict Arnold Patriotic Club.
The Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde Clinic for Integrated Personalities.
The Imelda Marcos Thrift Shop.
Jack the Ripper Battered Women’s Shelter.
The John Hinckley Mental Health Clinic.
The Marie Antoinette Soup Kitchen for the Homeless.
The Pontius Pilate Society for Social Responsibility.
The possibilities are endless.
