College Baseball : SCC Sweeps Claremont in Baseball

The Southern California College baseball team (22-11) swept a nonconference doubleheader at Claremont Wednesday, 17-7 and 7-2.
Vanguard Ron Nelson went 5 for 8, with a homer and three doubles, Dean Harvey was 4 for 6 with three doubles and Jim McCahill was 3 for 6 with a grand slam for six RBIs.
The winning pitcher in the opener was Brian Sullivan (6-1). Robert Mansfield (2-1) won the second game as both pitchers recorded eight strikeouts. The Vanguards play at Azusa Pacific in a District 3 game Saturday at noon.
