Huntington Beach : Pickup Overturns; One Occupant Badly Hurt
A pickup truck overturned early Thursday on Warner Avenue, then slid about 60 feet on its roof, leaving one of its occupants with critical injuries.
Paul Marks, 23, of Anaheim was listed in critical condition Thursday at Fountain Valley Regional Hospital. He suffered internal injuries and head trauma, according to Officer Robert Barr, a traffic investigator for the Huntington Beach Police Department.
Two other occupants, both from Anaheim, suffered very minor injuries, Barr said.
A Police Department statement issued Thursday morning identified Marks as the driver, but Barr said he could not confirm which of the truck’s occupants had been driving the 1986 Toyota pickup.
The driver lost control just west of Beach Boulevard, where the truck jumped an eight-inch-high center divider, flipped over, and skidded about 60 feet on its top, Barr said.
No charges have been filed in connection with the accident, Barr said.
