Trains Blocked After Derailment
One car in a Santa Fe freight train derailed as the train was passing along the main line through El Toro Monday afternoon, causing no significant damage but blocking other train traffic for several hours.
A Santa Fe spokesman said passengers on four Amtrak passenger trains were transported by bus between the Santa Ana and Oceanside stations until the car was back on track Monday night, the spokesman said.
The derailment occurred between El Toro Road and Alicia Parkway northeast of Interstate 5, the spokesman said.
