Softball Roundup : Titans’ LeFebvre Almost Perfect

Cal State Fullerton pitcher Susan LeFebvre came within one walk of a perfect game in leading the Titans to a 1-0, no-hit win over the University of the Pacific in the first game of a Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. softball doubleheader Tuesday at Fullerton. Joanne Ferrieri singled to drive in the only run.

UOP came back to hand LeFebvre her third loss of the season with a 2-1 victory in the second game. Liz Apodaca drove in what proved to be the decisive run in the second game with a single in the sixth inning that gave the Tigers a 2-0 lead.

Cypress 3, Rancho Santiago 0--The Chargers took advantage of two Rancho Santiago errors to score three unearned runs in the first inning and hold on for the victory in the championship game of the College of Sequoias Tournament in Visalia.

Ka Nakamura pitched a complete game for Cypress, which handed Rancho Santiago pitcher Kim Martin her first loss in 12 decisions. Martin was the winning pitcher as the Dons reached the championship game with a 2-1 win over Cypress earlier in the day.
