Community College Softball : Rancho Santiago Falls to Porterville

The Rancho Santiago College softball team lost to Porterville, 4-3, in the second round of the College of the Sequoias Invitational in Visalia Monday when Porterville pitcher Michele Flores went 4 for 4, driving in three runs with two singles and two triples.
In another second-round game, Cypress knocked Fullerton out of the championship bracket with a 2-1 victory.
Rancho Santiago (18-3) went on to beat two teams in consolation, and it would have to win five more today to win the title. Rancho Santiago beat Taft, 8-0, as Chris Makimoto had three hits and three RBIs and Lorraine Kalehuawehe (6-1) threw a two-hitter.
