Holiday Cheer
I enjoyed Charles Harrington’s suggestions (Letters, March 13) on having holiday-related roadblocks on other ethnic holidays besides St. Patrick’s Day.
However, I think that we’d be wasting our money by setting up roadblocks on Yom Kippur, a fast day for observant Jews. A better choice might be the festival of Purim, when one is obligated to drink enough so that one cannot distinguish between the hero and the villain of the day--but then, Jews don’t drive on religious holidays.
Cheers.
