Reagan’s Anger at Reporters
I think it is time for someone to speak up in defense of the media. No doubt there are times when they are overly aggressive and a nuisance, but think what this country would be like if we didn’t have a free press.
The first thing a dictator does when he takes over a country is stifle the press. It could have happened in this country at any time without the watchdog tactics of the media.
It is my opinion that the people who rail against the media the most, have something to hide or would like to. Instead of constantly complaining about the press, let us give them the credit due them.
As for Ronald Reagan’s calling the press people “S.O.B.s,” he only showed his lack of class. We now know that he is as coarse and vulgar as the common people. Where was that pious expression he usually wears for us all to see?
