Rosemead : Meeting on New Power Line
The state Public Utilities Commission will conduct a public meeting at 7:30 tonight at Zapopan Park, 3018 Charlotte Ave., Rosemead, about a proposal by Southern California Edison Co. to build a new transmission line in Edison’s right of way from its Gould substation in La Canada Flintridge through Pasadena and Rosemead to its Mesa substation in Monterey Park. The 18-mile line with towers 140 feet high would parallel another line of the same height and replace two smaller lines. The PUC is seeking public reaction to the project to determine whether to require an environmental impact report.
