Ray Rodriguez and Greg Coombs, basketball coaches at Valencia and Santa Ana high schools, have been named to coach the North and South boys teams in the 21st Orange County all-star game scheduled for June 21 at Orange Coast College’s Peterson Gym.
Dave White of Edison will coach the South and Mickey McAulay of Katella will coach the North in the preliminary girls game.
Rodriguez recently completed his 10th season at Valencia, leading the Tigers to the second round of the CIF Southern Section 3-A division playoffs. He has compiled a 135-96 record at Valencia.
Coombs led Santa Ana to its fourth consecutive playoff berth this season and has compiled an 82-41 record in five seasons. White led Edison to a 21-7 record this year and a second-place finish in the Sunset League. The Chargers advanced to the second round of the 4-A division where they were eliminated by eventual champion Lynwood.
McAulay led Katella to a 21-4 record in her third season.
