In the last three years, 88 athletes at 46 colleges and universities have been accused of sexual offenses in 61 cases, according to a three-month investigation by the Philadelphia Daily News.
Using FBI crime statistics, the Daily News calculated that football and basketball players at NCAA-member schools were reported to police for sexual assault about 38% more often than average male students.
