Man Booked in Beating Death of His Son, 2

A Los Angeles man was booked for investigation of murder and felony child abuse Monday for allegedly beating to death his 2-year-old son last month and breaking a 4-year-old girl’s leg two years ago, authorities said.
Pablo T. Gudino, 36, told police the 2-year-old had fallen in the shower at his South-Central Los Angeles home, but officers charged Gudino after an autopsy found that the child died March 9 of head injuries delivered with a blunt object, said Detective Viviane Gomez.
Police also learned that a 4-year-old girl had suffered a broken leg while Gudino was baby sitting with her in 1984--an injury he told police had also resulted from falling in the shower.
Gomez said two other children living with Gudino have been placed in protective custody. He was jailed without bail.
