Alpine Man Killed When Truck Hits Utility Pole

GLEN OAKS — A 46-year-old man riding in the back of a flatbed was killed Friday when the truck veered off Harbison Canyon Road and hit a utility pole, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The dead man was identified by the CHP as Buddy Lee Bingham, a truck mechanic from Alpine.
According to the CHP, the truck, driven by Randy Frank, 34, of El Cajon, was traveling at a high rate of speed on Harbison Canyon about a mile south of Arnold Way at 5:10 p.m. when the accident occurred.
Frank wasn’t injured but another passenger, Eldon Jamison, 35, of El Cajon, was hurt.
