Pickup Driver Hurt in Crash on Freeway

A Glendora man was injured and later booked on suspicion of drunk driving Saturday morning when his pickup truck crashed after going off the Garden Grove Freeway in Garden Grove, the California Highway Patrol said.
Officers said the driver was Cary A. Little, 22, who was alone in his truck. Witnesses told the CHP that the truck had been driving erratically in the westbound lane of the freeway, with frequent lane changes and tailgating. The accident occurred at 7:04 a.m. as the truck swerved across two lanes and fell off the freeway just west of the Brookhurst Street exit, striking a tree.
The Garden Grove Fire Department used its jaws of life machine to free Little from the truck, and he was then airlifted by helicopter to Fountain Valley Regional Hospital. He suffered cuts and a possible broken leg, the CHP said.
