TITLE TROUBLE

Hemdale’s film “USA Today” begins production March 24, with Adrian Pasdar and Christopher Penn as two dreamers who pick up Lori Singer for some road adventures on their way to California. But that title may not make the trip.
Outtakes suspected that a certain newspaper with the same name might object. Producer Chuck Roven suggested it was none of our business.
But Hemdale attorney Ame Vaughan was more helpful: “We will make our best effort to locate an alternative title. The newspaper took the position that they have full copyright on the name, but they are permitting production to go onward with the working title.”
So she said that it’s understood that Hemdale will eventually rename the pic.
