Bank Held Up by Lone Woman
A woman who apparently was alone robbed the American Savings & Loan Bank at 16911 Algonquin St. in Huntington Beach on Friday and escaped on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Police Sgt. Jeff Cope said the woman walked up to a teller at about 11 a.m., said she was robbing the bank and stuck her hand in her purse as if she had a gun.
After taking money from the teller, the woman left the bank and was seen running, but no one could determine whether she had jumped into a car or if anyone else was involved, Cope said.
