HomeClub Acquires Four Former Zody’s Locations

HomeClub Inc. of Fountain Valley has acquired four former Zody’s locations for an undisclosed price. The acquisition by the discount home improvement chain brings the total number of HomeClub stores to 17 in California and one in Las Vegas.
The four newly acquired stores, in Riverside, Los Angeles, North Hollywood and the City of Industry, will be refurbished by Griffin & Banks Architects Inc., of Huntington Beach.
In November 1985, HomeClub merged with Zayre Corp. to become a wholly owned subsidiary of the East Coast company. HomeClub’s 1986 expansion plans call for 18 new warehouses to open in the western U.S.
