UC Santa Barbara Dominates UCSD Crew
UC Santa Barbara’s crew team, after dominating the University of San Diego Saturday, came back Sunday to take seven of 10 heats from UC San Diego in the second half of a double dual meet at Tecolote Channel on Mission Bay. USD won three of its four races with Loyola Marymount Sunday.
In the men’s varsity competition, UCSB had the day’s best time at 5:13.15 to beat the Tritons by more than 20 seconds. Santa Barbara also won in the men’s lightweight and junior varsity categories. UCSD won the freshman and novice races.
The Tritons won the women’s varsity heat by eight seconds. UCSB took the women’s lightweight race and three different novice heats.
