A mild earthquake jarred the eastern San Gabriel Valley Sunday afternoon.
Seismologists at Caltech said the 2:42 p.m. temblor measured 3.5 on the Richter scale and was centered near Claremont.
There were no reports of damage or injuries.
“I didn’t feel it so much as hear it,” Claremont police Lt. Robert Smith said. “It was like a low rumbling off in the distance.”
