Richard Breaks Pt. Loma Scoring Record

Deon Richard broke the all-time Point Loma Nazarene College scoring record Saturday night as the Crusaders beat Biola, 73-63, in the National Christian College Athletic Assn. Western Regional final at Point Loma.
Richard had 21 points, giving him a career total of 2,334. That breaks the mark set in 1954 by two-time NAIA All-American Bobby Hopkins.
Point Loma (24-7) will defend its national championship and represent the region at the NCCAA tournament beginning Thursday at Chattanooga, Tenn. Biola finished 26-7.
