WEEKEND SPORTS : ARMCHAIR COMPETITORS FACE 3 1/2-HOUR MARATHON
Los Angeles’ first marathon will get extensive live coverage Sunday on KCOP Channel 13. Beginning with a pre-race program at 8:30 a.m., the station will follow the marathon from its start at 9 a.m. continuously until noon. The winner is expected to cross the finish line about 11:15 a.m.
Another first arrives Sunday--the first pre-season Dodger telecast on KTTV Channel 11. The Dodgers will be playing the Houston Astros, with Fernando Valenzuela pitching and the first-string broadcasting team of Vin Scully, Ross Porter and Jerry Doggett calling the action. Game time is 10:30 a.m.
There’ll be more about the Dodgers at 8:30 Sunday night when Channel 11 profiles manager Tommy Lasorda.
