Milke Named CCAA Coach of Year
Leslie Milke, whose CaL State Northridge women’s basketball team finished second in the California Collegiate Athletic Assn., has been named conference coach of the year.
Milke, 29, is in her third year as coach of the Lady Matadors (19-8). Northridge will play UC Davis in the first round of the NCAA Division II Western Regional on Saturday night at CSUN.
All-Mountain Valley Selections
Vincent Ray and James Mixon, the talented shooting duo from College of the Canyons, have been named to the first team of the All-Mountain Valley Conference.
Ray, a 6-4 sophomore forward, and Mixon, a sophomore guard, averaged more than 20 points a game this season. Canyons center Anthony Hines, a 6-7 freshman from El Camino High, was also selected to the first team.
Valley’s 6-7 forward Mario Lopez was named to the first team.
